In 2016, fueled by a lifelong passion for animals and a commitment to providing the best possible care, Bad Ass Bugs was born. As a devoted animal lover, I always sought to feed my pets the highest quality nutrition. However, after diving into the available options, I was dismayed to discover that most insect chows on the market were loaded with high amounts of animal protein—a dangerous ingredient for reptiles that can lead to the buildup of uric acid, a potentially lethal condition.

Driven by a desire to protect my animals and offer a better solution, I embarked on a journey of research and experimentation. After immense patience, significant financial investment, and countless hours of trial and error  I was able to formulate a recipe for a nutritionally balanced blends.

Not stopping at the chow, I also developed a specialized breeding technique to produce the most robust Dubia roaches. These insects are now known for their vitality and nutritional value, making them the ideal choice for feeding reptiles and other insectivores.
